      If I get one more "promotion" in the Notifications, I *will* uninstall this piece of junk. I am NOT interested in getting blasted with your "monthly giveaways" or any other advertising, it is utterly annoying.

        How do I opt out of the annoying "Lenovo Rewards" and other related advertisements? I have "What's New" and "Apps to Discover" turned off in the "customize companion" settings, but I'm still getting annoying promotions like this.

          • How to Turn Off Conserve Mode without Lenovo Settings

            Hello

            I'm stuck on 60% battery, i turned on conserve mode while lenovo settings was working properly, now i have the "update lenovo system interface driver...." problem, i can't get beyond the 60%,

            Its a lenovo miix 700, a 2 in 1 which i would like to bring on travel without bringing the charger, thus i would like it to charge to 100% so i wont worry too much about the battery.

            Is there any way? registry? bios? to turn off the conserve mode outside of lenovo settings? i guess i can use a hack of some sort until this…

            • System Update needs tgo provide an error code when it fails to work.

              My System Update recently stopped installing updates. It will inform me what updates are available, and allow me to sewlect them for installation. They download and System Update immediately issues the message the updates failed to install. No reason, no error code.

              I tried uninstalling System Update and reinstalling it. Same problem.

              The suggested solution has been to reset my system to factory defaults and reinstall all my applications and data. This once difficult process has gotten even more difficult since Microsoft remove Easy Transfer. Offloading all my data, and making certain I've gotten all it, has just become more…

                Hi everyone,

                I am aware of the issues that everyone has been having. We are releasing a large update around 1/27 for the Companion application and the system interface driver that will hopefully resolve the last of these issues.

                • Lenovo Companion v3.59.1.0 Hardware Scan Fails to Complete

                  Lenovo Companion v3.59.1.0 Hardware Scan fails to 100% complete. The scan reaches the storage tests and cycles testing repeatedly over the disks again and again. It repeatedly restarts storage testing at around 69% complete. This is the second time I've observed the behavior since the app update. Previous versions seemed to complete correctly (on or about 9-30-2016.) This behavior is occurring on a T450 with Windows 10 pro, version 1607, OS build 14393.187

                            Life is too short to try to get through to you people in 'support' but if you should get this - will somebody answer the unanswered question which has been posed in the forums as to "WHAT IS TPKNRRES.EXE??? WHAT IS IT FOR??? WHY DOES IT TRY TO ACCESS SKYPE??? WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS IN OTHER SOFTWARE THAT IT IS TRYING TO SOLVE?????". No effort has been made by Lenovo to answer that question instead there is a suggestion to open a support ticket (WHY?) but as I have discovered that seems to be impossible.

                              As for TPKNRRESS.EXE, what it does and why does it want to access skype? This EXE file belongs to our Communication Utility suite and is directly responsible for controlling volume and other settings behind the scenes to optimize your microphone and speaker experience. The reason Skype asks if it can utilize it (similar to a Bluetooth headset) is because TPKNRRESS is trying to optimize the audio at the same time Skype is running. Due to restrictions in Skype directly, it has to grant authorization to any application to work along side of it.

                                      Ever since last optimizer software update posted by Lenovo, the optimizer no longer cleans anything from PC. I actually tested this by making a bunch of temporary files and still it finds nothing always.

                                      Whatever you did to "fix" this clearly didn't work. Revert to the old optimizer pc cleaner or please fix this so that it cleans the pc again.

                                        Hey Marshall,

                                        PC Cleanup still removes cached files and temporary windows files. We no longer remove files from the Download section due to customer complaints that it removed their entire history of files.
